Five Minute Friday: Lost

Five Minute Friday

Lost

I’ve lost a lot of things in my life.

Innocence.

Dignity.

Self-respect.

Keys.

Interest.

Love.

Trust.

Bank card.

Money.

Homework.

Connection.

Friends.

Family.

Phone.

Books.

Kids. (Seriously, it’s happened to Braniac more than once.)

Car. (In a parking lot.)

Relationships.

I guess everything in this world can be lost.

Two and a half years ago I discovered that there is one thing that cannot be lost.

God’s love cannot be lost. He is the only consistency, whether we like it or not. He was with me before I was saved and He will be with me and love me even when I stray. He will be faithful when I am faithless, or even only less than perfect. His word is replete with his promises that his love can never be lost.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:28-29

Yep. Realized after the 5 minutes was up that I’d forgotten that one. 😀
