Therefore encourage one another and build each other up…
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I would like to thank the people who prayed for me last week, for those who encouraged me, for those who let me know that it is unnecessary to go through this trial alone. You are the people who fill others. I’m sure my current trial and resulting bouts of depression make others nervous, pushes them outside their comfort zone, but those who understand, or even just try to, whether Christian or not, are the ones who remind me that it won’t be forever, that there will be a time again when what fills me will not be despair and confusion, but joy and peace. It reminds me again of the truth of my favorite Scripture:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort
those in any trouble with the comfort
we ourselves receive from God.
God has placed each person here for this purpose, regardless who we are. We are his hands and feet, and I am always thankful for the people, again, Christian or not, who display that by filling others when they are empty.
