Five Minute Friday: Tell

We need to tell our kids about Mosul. We need to tell them about Kenya. We need to tell them about persecution wherever it exists in the world. We need to tell them because they need to know the truth about their faith, that there will be people who hate them simply because they take on the title of Christian.

We need to tell them to look at people as creations of God, no matter what their skin color, creed, or lifestyle. We need to tell them that Jesus ate with prostitutes and tax collectors. We need to tell them because God judges the heart and not the outside, the dress, the appearance.

We need to tell them that it doesn’t matter what they do, God will always love them, that He is the one they can trust, even when His people are not doing the things He commands them to do. We need to tell them because faith has nothing to do with what other Christians are doing, all people are sinners, but God is not.

We need to tell them that we have no greater joy than to hear that they follow God. We need to tell them it doesn’t matter if they go to college or become garbage collectors, that loving God is all we ask for them. We need to tell them because they need to know that we love them regardless, as well.

We need to tell them, then, we have to do.
