The HelloMornings Challenge I have been participating in for about three years now gives a nice little bible reading plan/daily planner to participants. There is a passage to read on each day of the planner, as well as the usual spaces to fill out your schedule and to do lists and other various lists for the day.

I’m a fairly practical person so this planner works well for me. You get to see your daily reading and notes each time you check your planner and I find that a helpful reminder as well.

Most days I write down my to do list and it looks like everyone else’s to do list:  Go to the bank and the hardware store, put a new lock on the cellar door. Oh, sorry, wrong person’s list. But you get the idea.

Some days, however, I need to write another to do list, a list to remind me who I am and what I’m really doing, above and beyond the physical. On those days my list looks more like this:

  • Trust God
  • Rest in Him
  • Work in His Strength, not my own
  • Love on my kids
  • Pray without ceasing
