God will meet you. People will fail you. Circumstances will turn against you. Even the weather is fickle. But God will meet you.
He will meet you in your darkness, in times of levity. He will meet you in your daily needs and in the overwhelming vision of the future. He promises He will meet you, and He will go with you.
Though your mother and father forsake you, though friends turn on you, though the government persecutes you, God is with you and will meet you in your need.
I think we forget this (and I can’t be the only person who does this because volumes have been written on the matter) because we do look at others for our comfort and our hope. We even forget this because we look within, but all that we see are our mistakes and our screw ups (if we don’t see at least a little of that we should probably check ourselves for narcicism).
But God is outside all of this, outside of our friends, outside of our government, outside of ourselves, outside of time and space. He is not bound by what we see. And so He is able to meet us exactly when we need him.
