I’m not much for resolutions, but I already wrote about that. And I’m not much for New Year’s Eve, it seems like just another excuse to get drunk. I’d have to say the only thing I like about New Year’s is that there is no school and there is a Rose Parade. 🙂
I don’t have any resolutions, really. Just ongoing projects that I hope to improve upon.
Obviously, I need to get some sort of job training so I can get some sort of job. So far, nothing I’ve looked into has panned out. I have a place or two to call next Monday. We’ll see.
I’m also supposed to write out some sort of game plan for my therapist. It sounded daunting when she mentioned it, but it’s slowly coming together. I’m trying to be realistic, such as, in ten years we hope to be in a position to get a farm, own or rent, most likely rent.
The biggest thing I’ve been working on is transitioning from any processed foods to barely any processed foods. I won’t be able to do that with wheat bread or wheat cookies, but for the other items I am going to try. This is actually stemming from my frustration with the organic and permaculture communities. They seem to overwhelmingly have the belief that anyone can 1) grow their own food (seriously, had a woman tell me you can put seeds and dirt in an old tin can and grow food in your car if you are living in your car…she hadn’t actually ever tried it herself, let alone fed a family that way), 2) that buying organic food is a decision based on convenience, not a practical decision based on economics, and 3) you should be able to do all this on food stamps. So, I decided to find out for myself if you can truly eat healthy on food stamps. I’ll be posting my findings, and maybe some recipes.
It’s actually been a lot of fun. The kids love to make the food and they seem to enjoy it. And, considering the cost of organic meat, Braniac should be very happy because we won’t be having much of that. 🙂
There are a few other things going on, and a few other things that seem stuck, but that’s the way life is. 🙂
So, what are your resolutions, New Year’s or otherwise?
