Life was all a lark…then I went to class on Monday and discovered the final was moved up one day. Um, yeah, that’s kinda stressful. So pretty much the next 48 hours were nothing but non-stop studying.
I got a B and that’s definitely acceptable after the term I had. I need to sort out the psychological side of things. Too bad I’ve rarely encountered a therapist who can quite help me through that.
So, the term is over and I’m dealing with it a bit better this time. I did panic this morning when I realized my break was not as strictly planned out as last time, but I have more days at home and I also have a lot of prep work for next term so I won’t be able to do the heavy type of work I did last break. Also, it’s hot as hell and probably not good weather for seeding a lawn. I do have a few projects I will work on, and we will take a little break up in the mountains for a few days.
I started on my first project, the laundry room, today.
Then I’ll get to the bath and kitchen and patio.
My other projects are: watch a lot of movies and read one book. It’s pretty hot here in the afternoon so I need to take a break and sit in front of a fan and be entertained without any effort on my part. That’s what movies are for. 🙂 And I want to read The Rook, which is really great so far. Supernatural spies, exactly the sort of thing I like to read about. When MG saw it he called it Supernatural (as in the series) James Bond. Yep, that’s definitely what I like.
Today we watched a movie I didn’t take time to see in the theater, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I’m really glad I didn’t watch it when it came out. I think I’d have been wrecked far more than I was. It was a pretty rough film for me. I’m still working my way through it.
We went swimming today but I have no pictures because it was so hot I was actually swimming not just watching the kids with my feet in the water.
On Saturday, we are going to go enjoy the a/c of the movie theater and watch Ant Man and the Wasp. I really liked the first movie and this one looks pretty good.
Anyway, in short, I’m going to try to take it a little easier this break. The littles will be back in school the second week of August so I’ll work on more after that.
Next summer I had planned to take a nice photography class and kick back, but I found out they have microbiology in the summer so…:)
If I were to measure my psychological improvement by looking at the end of each term, I’d say it’s definitely getting better. Still have a lot of anxieties to deal with, but that will take a lifetime. It’s much better than it was, though. I will never regret the decision to go back to school even if it gets me nothing more than healed.
